| Q
1. supplementary
services? |
 |
A
1.
Generally speaking, supplementary services are the services
applied by the local PTT Switch, such as call waiting, call
forwarding, hunting group, three way calling..., etc.
To get
supplementary services:
- Apply
for the services from the local PTT; additional service
charge is needed.
- Enable
the "Local Supplementary Service" function of Taicom
ISDN-TA; no needs for application from PTT and extra charge.

| Q
2. upgrading
the DTE speed from 115,200bps to 230,400bps? |
 |
A
2.
Normally the DTE speed is decided by the RS232 chip of Mother
Board.
If the Mother Board uses the No. 16550 of RS232 chip, the
DTE speed can only support to 115,200bps; you can buy a
high speed Serial I/O Card and insert it into the Mother
Board to upgrade the DTE speed upto 230,400bps.
Still,
if the Mother Board uses the No. 16650 of RS232 chip, the
DTE speed then can support to 230,400bps.
|
| Q
3. the
differences between the external ISDN TA and the ISDN add-on
card? |
 |
A
3.
The external ISDN TA has S/T port, analog port and data
port on it; it needs no setting on IRQ and I/O port address
while the ISDN add-on card needs setting the IRQ and I/O
port configuration.
|
| Q
4. the Screen incoming call function? |
 |
A
4.
Screen Incoming Call function supplies users with listing
their phone numbers in the screen incoming call table as

| Q
6. IS128SS Series--/SDN-TA Caller ID function? |
 |
A
6.
ISDN-TA Caller ID function is for the Outgoing Call operation;
through this function, the senders can decide whether to
show their Caller ID or not.IS128SS-LCD and IS128SU-LCD
can also dislay the incoming phone number with caller ID
fucntion enabled. But the premiss is the local PTT should
supply the Caller ID function; some PTT switches don't supply
the function or may charge for the service.

| Q10.
the S register functions of BOD feature? |
 |
A10.
Making
Another B Channel Up in AT Command Mode.
1.
S Register 107: BOD Throughput ( channel data flow control
)
- "ATS107=1~
6" set " how fast" the B channel data flow is ( range:
10 ~ 60 kbps )
2.
S Register 141: BOD add monitor
- "ATS141=
m" set " how often" the device checks the data flow
( m = seconds/ per time)
3.
S Register 143: BOD add last Time
- "ATS143=
n" set " how long " another B channel will auto up
to support the original one ( n= m * counting times )
Example:
ATS107=
1 >>the B channel data flow=10kbps
ATS141=
5 >>the device checks the data flow every 5 seconds
ATS143=30
>>the
device counts 6 times of ATS141=5
( if
the data flow >= 10kbps 6 times, another B channel will
auto up to support the original B chanel. That is to say,
two B channels Tx/Rx(transmit/ receive) the file data at
the same time. )
Making
Another B Channel Down in AT Command Mode.
1.
S Register 144: BOD Cut monitor Time
- "ATS144=
m" set
" how often" the device checks the data flow ( m = seconds/
per time)
2.
S Register 146: BOD Cut last Time
- "ATS146=
n" set
" how long " the second B channel will auto down and close
( n= m * counting times )
Example:
ATS107=
1 >>the
B channel data flow=10kbps
ATS144=
5 >>the
device checks the data flow every 5 seconds
ATS146=30
>>the
device counts 6 times of ATS144=5
( if
the data flow <= 10kbps 6 times, the second B channel
will auto down and close . That is to say, only one B channel
remains to Tx/Rx (transmit/receive) the file data then.)
